"The Legend of Empress Carnelian and the Gates of Eternity" is a concept album that explores anxiety, hopelessness, and self-doubt, symbolised by an evil empress. The songs create an approximate storyline of events in the life of the protagonist, a character based on Leo Carnelian.

"I see this album as some sort of resumé; I’ve poured as many musical aspects of myself as I could into this project, to show what I’m musically capable of. This album therefore explores many different sounds and genres, all the way from modern pop and hip-hop to 70’s progressive rock."
